First off, thank you for all the emails and blog comments showing that you all care. We had a crazy amount of responses to our last post; it is comforting to know that we have so many people that care about us because we sure as heck know that the Peruvian police don't. Secondly, we couldn't let the South American portion of our trip end on a bad note. We have had such a wonderful three and a half months and we didn't want to come home with a bitter taste in our mouth. Little did I know what Jonathan had planned... We arrived in Mancora, a cute beach town in northern Peru, and Jonathan led me to the hostel he had picked out for our stay here. As soon as we walked in I felt like we had stepped out of South America and back into a high schoolers spring break in Cancun. The hostel itself is beach front with a pool, bar, cocktail bar, pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, not one person that speaks Spanish, hot surfer dudes and girls bouncing around in nearly nothing. We settled into our room with a pool view and made our way to the bar for a well deserved drink after the past few days we had.

We have enjoyed honing our ping pong skills and soaking up the sun poolside for three days straight now. The first few days we were hoping to get some surfing in but the waves were pretty non-existent so instead we par-took in the countless "Spring Break" activities that the hostel puts on every day, twice a day. Don't worry - there wasn't a wet t-shirt contest. Our last day however, the swell picked up some and we fought the locals for a few rides. Anyways, after four days here we are both pretty partied out and ready to come home - we fall asleep each night to the bass of the music at the bar, the sound of girls squealing at cute boys and giant jenga crashing down every ten minutes. All in all, the stay here has been great and was a wonderful way to end our trip. Jonathan did well at surprising me with this. We definitely needed a vacation from our vacation and we now have nice tans for coming home.
We leave "wannabe Cancun during Spring Break" tonight to catch an overnight bus to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Our flight leaves Guayaquil early Monday morning and we should be stateside sometime Monday afternoon.
I am sooooooo excited about coming home for a few days!!!
